Happy Sunday Friends,
I pray this week starts off lovely and surprises you in the best way!
Today is pretty major as I am starting our Bible readings. I got this idea after my friend encouraged me to record myself reading the book of Psalms, for no reason other than the sound of my voice. It felt strange that someone was suggesting that and when she was adamant about it, I turned to God for the real reason. Not only do I believe He actually told me to do it, but I also believe He told me to share it on Never Met A Monday. Crazy how that all worked out.
So today, I will be sharing a reading of Joshua 3. I don’t want to do anything related to God without praying about it, and I believe I was led to this specific passage for personal reasons and to draw a connection to last week’s prayer. Use the audio to hear me and read along below to see what I highlighted and underlined.

Before I dive into some points I want to pull, can I just say this feels very much like an allegory. I didn’t initially think about how a lot of us are possibly stepping into something new and how that is what the Israelites were doing as well, but I can’t not relate the two.
A Few Questions and Comments…
→ The importance of the spirit of the Lord to go before
What does this say to us?
How often are we, in 2024, making sure we keep God first before we embark on whatever? Whatever being a stand in for the job, relationship, hobby, etc.
→ Consecrate means to make or declare sacred.
→ I read a commentary on this chapter (sorry I don’t have the exact link) and I loved how the person spoke that the ground being dry was symbolic in showing that the Israelites wouldn’t be able to track remains of where they had been over to where they were now going.
→ Please note the FAITH that is highlighted via the priest stepping in the water before it stopped.
Something worth remembering and learning
The Word is used to speak to us throughout time and this seems like the importance of having God first is loud and clear here. Take some time to pray for yourself and see if there’s anything revealed to you, and always feel free to share with a friend!
I hope you enjoyed this first read and have thoughts or comments. May we grow stronger in His word, as we keep reading together!
Till Next Time,
Sydney
